General comments:
Widespread, though somewhat local.
Absent from the entire urban zone of London that is South-east Middlesex.

Hertfordshire Notes: In The Moths of Hertfordshire I noted three generations of adults per year, but incorporating the data received in the years since then seems to suggest that there are only two, with the second brood of adults flying over a protracted period of time. The year 1887 is a 'safe estimate' for the earliest Hertfordshire record, but in reality it has probably been present since long before then. It was listed by R. W. Bowyer for the Haileybury College area, for the period up to 1888, from the St Albans area, 'within two or three miles of the Town Hall', in the period before 1889 by Gibbs and from the area east of Bamville Wood Farm (near Harpenden Common) in the years before 1889, again by A. E. Gibbs. It appears to have remained common and widespread throughout the period between then and now.

Middlesex Notes: Widespread and common in the western half and in the northern one-third of the eastern half of Middlesex, but completely absent from the south-east, from Westminster to the Lea Valley.
