Hertfordshire Notes: This is another common species of spring, flying slightly later than the Shoulder-stripe in any given year. An early adult was noted at Weston, on 18th February 2003 (Alan Cockburn). An extreme aberrant form, captured at Ashwell Chalk Quarry in April 2005 by Emil de Maria and Vincent & Betty Judd and now in my collection is illustrated in British Journal of Entomology & Natural History : Plate 4, Figure 3.

Middlesex Notes: Local. The distribution is similar to that of the last species, but whereas badiata is distributed in a narrow band along the county boundary the present species occupies a significantly broader band, though still avoiding the urban area.
