General comments:
Extremely local resident; declining.

Based on the number of records received,the Beautiful Carpet began a decline in the 1980s and has continued that downwards trend ever since. It persists at a very few suitable woodland sites, but always in apparently low number and it has clearly vanished from many sites where it could previously be found. It is a Species of Conservation Concern in both our counties.
