Sandy Carpet
Perizoma flavofasciata

(Thunberg, 1792) 1808 / 70.138

General comments:
Widespread resident.

A widely distributed species, but it seldom enters moth traps and the best way of recording it is by wandering along hedgerows at dusk with a torch when they will fly around freely though the huge numbers seen in the 1970s and 1980s are no longer a feature.

Recorded in 33 (80%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1887.
Last Recorded in 2024.
