General comments:
Widespread resident.

Considered to be under-recorded and more widespread than the map indicates. It is quite numerous in Herts, but scarcer in Middlesex and seems to avoid the urban zone. At Whippendell Wood, many were bred in 1960 from larvae beaten from flowers of a large Field Maple tree.

Recorded in 29 (71%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1937.
Last Recorded in 2023.
