September Thorn
Ennomos erosaria

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775) 1915 / 70.236

General comments:
Extremely local resident.

The September Thorn has never been especially numerous in the two counties, though it is present in a reasonable number of sites in the south of Herts and the north of Middlesex. It has certainly been lost from a number of sites, as the map indicates; this should be interpreted in the light of 91 per cent population decline, nationally, since 1970.

Recorded in 29 (71%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1905.
Last Recorded in 2023.
