General comments:
Widespread resident.

The Scalloped Hazel is amongst the most frequent moths on site lists. The melanic ab. nigra Prout, which is more or less unmarked and dark brown is occasionally encountered, but affects only a very few examples and is regarded as a rarity in our area.
