General comments:
Extremely local resident. Species of Conservation Concern.

Apart from a probable small resident population in the area of Hexton Chalk Pit, the Common Heath appears to have been lost from the Hertfordshire fauna. A recent report from the far west at Gubblecote, is likely to relate to a wanderer from the Chilterns. The two old Middlesex records relate to the Heston area, which in times long ago supported heathland habitat.
