Widespread but local resident

Separation of this species from the Poplar Kitten, causes much confusion, especially as both may fly together at the same site on the same date. The Sallow Kitten is widespread and may be expected in all areas where sallows grow, especially in our river valleys and other damp places, except that the map shows a clear avoidance of the urban areas of western London.
