Agrotis cinerea

General comments:
Extremely local resident.

Recorded from 1897-1982, but then apparently declined drastically. It was re-found in 2010 during targeted searching after a gap of 28 years in the extreme north-west of Hertfordshire were it still persists. We have been unable to re-find it at other sites along the north Herts border. Occasional vagrant moths turn up across a wider area. A published record of a single moth at Ware on 29th July 2013 is now known to be an error.
