Twin-spotted Quaker
Anorthoa munda

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775) 2189 / 73.250
=Orthosia munda

General comments:
Widespread resident.

The Twin-spot Quaker seems to have a relatively narrow band of dates over which adults may be seen when compared to the other common Orthosia species. Generally speaking this moth appears in lower numbers than the other common Orthosia species, though this is compensated for a by a reasonable variety of colour forms; examples completely lacking the paired spots from which the English name derives are referable to ab. immaculata Staudinger and are not uncommon .
