General comments:
Widespread resident.

This is one of a small group of moths that fly early in the year and are expected in most, if not all, light traps. A rather surprising modern trend is the appearance of adult moths later in between summer and winter. For example, 16th August 2008 at Bishops Stortford and 11th August 2021 at Watton-at-Stone; these and most others are supported by specimens or photographs. This is something that is presently unexplained.

Recorded in 36 (88%) of 41 10k Squares.
