General comments:
Widespread but local resident.

Although fairly widespread across the county, there is a definite preference on the part of this moth for gardens. This might imply a larval food plant link, microclimate variation or other factors, but whatever the reason it is entirely possible to spend a night out in the woods and catch no Large Ranunculus then return home to a garden trap not all that far away brimming with them.
