General comments:
Widespread but local resident. Vagrant?

A very local species, inhabiting open woodland and lightly wooded landscapes. It rarely arrives at light traps in any number. The examples at Parliament Hill and Chiswick were probably wanderers.

Recorded in 20 (49%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1887.
