General comments:
Declining resident. Becoming scarce.

The present-day map appears to show a worrying loss from a number of sites in the south and east of the Hertfordshire: The species is confined to only a handful of widely spread sites in Middlesex. This apparent loss was noted in the Herts Moth Book in 2008 and has scarcely changed since; it seems that the Alder Moth is in decline in our area.

Recorded in 24 (59%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1891.
Last Recorded in 2023.
