General comments:
Widespread but local resident.

Subspecies prasinana Linnaeus is found in continental Europe and in Britain is replaced by subspecies britannica Warren. The moth has been far more frequently encountered than Scarce Silver-lines but at 2022 the equation has balanced so that both species are equally numerous. The thin spread of reports from the south of Middlesex is surprising.
