Plusia festucae

(Linnaeus, 1758) 2439 / 73.022

General comments:
Immigrant - perhaps an extremely local resident.

Formerly scarce, but there has been a significant increase in the number of sites recorded, beginning in 2010. The look-alike species, Lempke's Gold Spot is absent from our area: Any claimed occurrence must be supported by a voucher specimen that will need to be dissected (genitalia) as a minimum and very probably confirmed by DNA bar-coding.

Recorded in 22 (54%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1896.
Last Recorded in 2023.
