General comments:
Widespread but local resident.

Records given by Foster (1937) suggest that it was local, but not uncommon and this remains the case today; the moth can be expected in association with beech trees throughout the county. The lack of records in the southern half of the Middlesex might reflect a paucity of Beech trees?

Recorded in 29 (71%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1888.
Last Recorded in 2023.
