General comments
Widespread bt local resident.

The Plain Pug is less localised and numerically more dominant in Middlesex than in Hertfordshire and in the latter county is rarely recorded other than sparingly; many sites appear not to support it. Whether or not this will last remains to be seen; given the habitats of the larval foodplants, one can easily envisage a reduction of moths as Middlesex is progressively "tidied".
