General comments
Vagrant.

Foster (1941) adds this species to the county list from 'Tring, I, vii, 1905 (A. Goodson teste L. B. Prout)'. The specimen is in the Natural History Museum's main collection under the name constrictata, although it has 'E. tenuiata' written by hand on one of its labels. It is a female with the abdomen partly chewed, probably by Museum Beetle. The identification has been checked and confirmed by John Chainey. The only other Hertfordshire record is from Berkhamsted on 15th July 2017 - presumably a wanderer. The species breeds on rocky cliffs and similar in coastal locations.
