Blomer's Rivulet
Venusia blomeri

Curtis, 1932 1872 / 70.116

General comments:

Blomer's Rivulet is resident in the south-west, Wales and the north-west of England and is unexpected in our area. We have three old records: Gibbs (1901) cites Rickmansworth; the dot on the map is arbitrarily placed in the centre of the ten-kilometre square. H. M. Edelsten recorded one at light near Little Berkhamsted (Foster, 1937); unfortunately, Foster failed to report the year. The last was taken at Totteridge by Ian Lorimer on 5th August 1962.

Record cards held in the now defunct Biological Records centre at Monks Wood recorded one for Hertfordshire in 1930 at Chalfont St Peter. However, that location is in Buckinghamshire.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.

Recorded in 3 (7%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1901.
Last Recorded in 1962.
