General comments:
Vagrant.

Gibbs (1902) records "sylvata (Hb.)" at Hitchin, one at light in 1902. Foster (1937) interprets this as 'Euchoeca testaceata Don. (Sylvata Hb.)' - so even though the true author of sylvata is not Hübner it is clear which species is intended. The species is unexpected and it would be easy to dismiss this as an error; but there is one further record from a most reliable observer in the form of Eric Classey, at Rickmansworth in 1935 (in the archive of the Ruislip and District natural History Society, per A.M. George).
