General comments:
Extremely local resident.

This small moth is possibly overlooked amongst the catch in damp sallow carr, though it comes readily to mv light traps. It is also sometimes found in damp woodlands that are not sallow-dominated, though the presence of at least one such bush is required. It clearly has two areas of local dominance - in south-west Herts in the north-west Middlesex border area and then also in south-west Middlesex. Scattered records elsewhere may include occasional wanderers but in most cases do represent breeding populations.

Recorded in 18 (44%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1918.
