General comments:
Ubiquitous.

The Brimstone is the fifth most reported moth in Hertfordshire. A specimen of ab. nebulosa West was taken at Totteridge in 1963 (Ian Lorimer) and illustrated in the report of the Annual Exhibition of the South London Entomological and Natural History Society for that year, also mentioned in West (2004).

Recorded in 40 (98%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1887.
