General comments:
Extremely local resident. Declining. Species of Conservation Concern.

Our area lies on the south-western edge of the broader national range of this striking moth, and that is clear explanation for its strong north-east bias here. However, records are few and it appears to be on a downwards trend; this may be natural range contraction (the map shows we really are right on the edge), but it should be monitored in case there are more sinister reasons for the decline.

Recorded in 8 (20%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1931.
Last Recorded in 2017.
