General comments:
Local resident.

According to Plant (2008), of the 50 Hertfordshire localities mapped for this moth to the end of 2006, only 21 supported it during the 1995 - 2006 period, suggesting a decline of 58 per cent in occupied sites. At the end of 2022, we have records from 104 map squares spread across both counties and of these only 54 are current; this suggests a loss from 61% of former sites. However, a glance at the graph lines on this web page, below, show that from 2000 to 2023 the number of records, individuals and occupied sites has remained pretty much constant; in the last two or three years a slight recovery is perceptible. These data relate to the entire of both counties, of course; there is clearly a decline in the north of Middlesex.

Recorded in 33 (80%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1887.
Last Recorded in 2024.
