General comments:
Widespread but very local resident.

Confusion is possible with the Sallow Kitten. Poplar Kitten is clearly the less "common" of this pair, with only one third the number of records in the database over the same time period and with large areas of the county apparently not supporting it. Oddly, however, it does appear more able to penetrate the West London area; this may be a function of the different foodplant and the apparent lack of any need for the habitat to be damp.
