Ptilodon cucullina

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775) 2009 / 71.022

General comments:
Widespread and usually common resident.

The species seems near absent from much of Middlesex - a surprising discovery that cannot be fully dismissed as under-recording. Though widespread and abundant in Hertfordshire, the records seem to suggest that this is a recent phenomenon, with very few reports from prior to 1990.

Recorded in 30 (73%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1937.
Last Recorded in 2023.
