There are three published records for this nationally rare moth, though two may perhaps relate to the same record. A single larva was found on an oak tree at Bricket Wood in 1884 (Griffith, 1890). It is listed "once" for the Haileybury School area prior to 1888 (Bowyer, 1888) and Foster (1937) notes both "Haileybury once (Bowyer)"; and "Formerly on the Heath (School List)". The reference to "The Heath" might relate to Hertford Heath, but there is no data to support that assumption. Volume 9 of Moths and Butterflies of Great Britain and Ireland shows a pre-1960 map dot in the west, but this relates to a Buckinghamshire record.
