Round-winged Muslin
Thumatha senex

(Hübner, 1808) 2035 / 72.037

General comments:
Widespread but extremely local resident.

The Round-winged Muslin is a marshland moth that is widespread in the county and it is probably present in most, if not all, wetland sites here. The absence of records from the chalk in the north-west and from the arable desert in the north might reflect lack of suitable wetland habitat. It is undoubtedly an under-recorded species and one that is often overlooked - even dismissed - as a worn micro.

First Recorded in 1887.
