General comments:
Widespread but local resident in Herts, apparently extremely local in Middlesex.

The Red Chestnut is a common species of the spring and is likely to be present wherever there is a Scot's Pine tree. The apparent lack of Middlesex records south of the line of the North London Woodlands is remarkable. Surely this must represent under-recording in the early part of the year?
