General comments:
Vagrant/introduction.

One at Rothamsted, Harpenden on 1st June 1963 was the first and only county record. As a resident it is confined to fenland and the Broads, though it is also thought to occur as a primary immigrant elsewhere. However, according to Bell (1964) the Harpenden example could have been imported to the area in thatching reeds that were dumped nearby.

Recorded in 1 (2%) of 41 10k Squares.
