General comments:
Widespread but local; absent from many trap stations.

Numbers have certainly declined over there first twenty years of the 21st century. The national population decline is 82 per cent since 1970. Targeted survey work is called for as a matter of urgency. This familiar autumn species comes in both the standard 'yellow marbled with brown' format and as the more or less plain yellow ab. flavescens Esper.

Recorded in 33 (80%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1887.
Last Recorded in 2024.
