General comments:
Widespread and numerically common resident.

Formerly scarce, a significant increase in the number of sites recorded began in 2010 and is broadly analysed as follows:
Oldest record is 1892.
1893 - 1980: 7 records for whole period
1981-1999: no records
2000-2010: annual average approx 40 records
2011 - 2022: annual average 120 records

Colonisation has, without question, been from the west.
