Bryophila domestica

=Cryphia domestica

General comments:
Widespread and common resident.

Lichens growing on house roofs are the favoured larval foodplant (perhaps reflecting a montane phase in their evolutionary history?). This might explain the genuine scarcity of reports from the north-east?

Recorded in 36 (88%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1887.
Last Recorded in 2023.
