General comments:
Widespread resident.

Correct identification requires genitalia examination. Specimens with a good deal of bright white on the outer band of the forewing are often Marbled Minor, but Tawny Marbled Minor also throws this form. More or less entirely melanic examples can be either species. More reliable is the form (smoothly curved or dentate) of the outer edge of the median fascia in its dorsal half; if you have not been shown, don't use it.
