Widespread resident.

All examples require genitalia dissection for correct naming - and both species often fly together. Skinner (1984; 1998) contends that all-black examples with a prominent white discal spot (his Figure 5 on Plate 38) 'are invariably M. didyma' but I have material that proves him wrong. Available data suggests that Lesser Common Rustic is considerably less numerically abundant than Common Rustic in this county.
