General comments
Very local resident.

The Small Wainscot is largely confined to damp, older woodlands, usually on clay with undisturbed areas of sedges and rushes within the woodland for the larvae to feed on. The lack of disturbance seems to be the key with cattle, pedestrians, dogs and others forming the main threat. Hampton and Bushy Park are our only localities in Middlesex.
