Bordered Sallow
Pyrrhia umbra

(Hufnagel, 1766) 2399 / 73.070

General comments:
Widespread but very local resident.

Although alternative foodplants have been implicated elsewhere, Restharrow is the pabulum of choice and the moth is probably restricted to sites where this plant grows. I have suggested elsewhere that Bordered Sallow adults are more readily attracted to tungsten-filament light sources than to mercury-vapour lamps.

Recorded in 28 (68%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1906.
Last Recorded in 2022.
