General comments:
Widespread but local resident.

Though rarely presenting itself in numbers greater than one, this is nevertheless a widespread and relatively common moth in the county and is likely to be present wherever there are oaks - both in woodland and growing in hedgerows, parks and gardens. However, it appears that the oaks need to be at least semi-mature in order to support larvae and the moth may be genuinely absent from some parts.
