General comments:
Extremely local resident.

A rare species of damp woodland in southern Britain is recorded only six times in Hertfordshire; five of these records relate to the Broxbourne Woods National Nature Reserve complex in the south-east, from where it is listed by Foster in 1937 (Hoddesdon and Broxbourne, both without dates and precise localities) and later from Danemead Wood in 1971 and 13th July 1982 (David Wilson) and Balls Wood on 13th July 2002 (Jim Reid). The stray record is from Hall Wood, Kimpton, in 2001 (Vincent & Betty Judd); it is unclear if this might represent another breeding locality or if the moth was merely a wanderer. The conservation requirements of this species need to be addressed in the management plan for the National Nature Reserve.

Recorded in 3 (7%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1971.
Last Recorded in 2018.
