General comments:
Widespread but somewhat local resident.

Damp habitats, especially woodlands but also more open habitats such as marshes and river banks, support this species, which is probably under-recorded in the county to some degree. Males are often encountered before dark whilst setting up the lights, in many cases disturbed by the activities of the moth enthusiast.
