General comments:
Declining resident - currently extremely rare or absent.

This was declared to be a Threatened species in Hertfordshire at the end of 2006 (Plant, 2008); the situation has not changed and the reasons remain unclear. It appears now, to be absent from most places where it once flourished and there are fears that we are about to lose this moth from the fauna of our two counties.
