General comments:
Widespread resident.

The adult of this species is immediately recognisable and it is no surprise then that most records are of adults from light traps. Foodplant records confirmed by rearing the adult include a single record from Aspen, one from an unknown species of poplar and several from Sallow. the species is likely to be found in most places where one or other of these foodplants grows.
Almost all Middlesex records are of adults and we need much more investigation of the early stages here.

Recorded in 33 (80%) of 41 10k Squares.
