General comments:

The default position with records of wild-caught adult Cnephasia species is that we require dissection of male genitalia. Dissections of females are acceptable only from a those with proof of adequate experience. Non dissected examples are omitted from the database, without exception.

Widespread but very local. This moth was raised to full species status in 2012 and this action invalidated all past records of C.pasiuana unless they could be supported by voucher specimens for dissection. The map presented here may be regarded as fully accurate, though some unconfirmed records may well deserve to be included.
