Acleris variegana

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)1048 / 49.077

General comments:
Widespread and common.

The Garden Rose Tortrix is amongst the most frequent 'micros' at garden light traps and is likely to be common everywhere. It has a number of colour forms and in my garden in Bishops Stortford I have recorded f. aspersana Fabricius, f. cirrana Curtis and the melanic f. caeruleoatrana Strand as well as the 'typical' form, but we do not have any numerical data on the frequency of any of the forms in Hertfordshire or Middlesex.

Recorded in 34 (83%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1888.
Last Recorded in 2024.
