General comments:
Widespread, though rather local, preferring wet or damp habitats.

The recent split of Acleris effractana from this species (see Karsholt et al, 2005) does not appear to affect southern Britain, although the reader is referred to the unexpected arrival in the south of Acleris logiana and the clear need to check carefully any specimen of any species that does not look 'quite right'.
