General comments:
In Plant (2008) I noted only three records. I also commented that this species is widespread and common in neighbouring Bedfordshire, but scarce to the east in Essex with no recent records from the west of the county. The map now (records to the end of 2022) shows a moth that is rather more widespread but still extremely local and concentrated in the east. It may be of note that almost all the new records are from 2011 onwards, with none from 2007 - 2010. Given that leaf mines generally were searched for throughout the period 2007 to 2022 this is flimsy evidence of the moth colonising our counties, rather than having been overlooked.
