Epinotia immundana

(Fischer von Röslerstamm, 1839)1136 / 49.240

General comments:
Widespread and common.

Griffith (1890) records this species 'on the banks of the Lea, near Wheathampstead, where they abound on the alders'. Several text books also list birches and roses as larval foodplants. Our map does not reflect an Alder associate as we have far too great a spread of records and so we are left assuming that birches may be important in our area?

Recorded in 25 (61%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1890.
Last Recorded in 2024.
