General comments:
Widespread and common.

Many different colour forms of this moth are evident. In our area, the majority conform to f. decorana Hb., but several others can be encountered, though we have no numerical data on these. The grey form cinereana Haworth appears to be restricted to Aspen and is currently regarded as a full species.
